Am 24. November 2020 wurden die Nominierungen für die 63. GRAMMY Awards bekannt gegeben. Der GRAMMY gilt als die höchste internationale Auszeichnung für Künstlerinnen, Künstler und Aufnahmeteams. Gleich sieben Mal wurde das Gelblabel geehrt. Bezeichnend ist die Bandbreite der Kategorien, in denen das innovative Traditionslabel Anerkennung fand.

Die Namen der Nominierten wurden virtuell verkündet. An der live gestreamten Veranstaltung nahmen von verschiedenen Orten der USA eine Vielzahl von Prominenten teil, darunter GRAMMY-Preisträger, Nominierte und Hoffnungsträger aus vergangenen Jahren.

Die 63. Verleihung der GRAMMY Awards wird am 31. Januar 2021 auf CBS übertragen.

Neben den eigenen Veröffentlichungen und Projekten des Gelblabels (siehe oben) erhielt die Deutsche-Grammophon-Künstlerin Hildur Guðnadóttir – Anfang des Jahres GRAMMY-Preisträgerin für den Soundtrack Chernobyl – zwei GRAMMY-Nominierungen für ihren Soundtrack Joker, in den Kategorien BEST ARRANGEMENT, INSTRUMENTAL OR A CAPPELLA und BEST SCORE SOUNDTRACK FOR VISUAL MEDIA.

 

 

24 November 2020 – The nominations for the 63rd GRAMMY Awards were announced earlier today. The Grammy, which recognises both artistic and technical achievement, is the recording industry’s most prestigious award. This year, Deutsche Grammophon has received no fewer than seven nominations. It is particularly gratifying to see the wide range of categories in which the pioneering Yellow Label has once again been recognised.  

The nominees were revealed during an hour-long livestreamed virtual party, attended from locations across the US by a host of special guests, including past GRAMMY winners, nominees and hopefuls.

“Huge congratulations to all our GRAMMY nominees! We’re delighted to receive such an incredible number of nominations – the same as last year actually,” says Dr Clemens Trautmann, President Deutsche Grammophon. “In a year in which our artists have pulled together as a family to bring music – live, online and in their recordings – to audiences worldwide, it means more than ever to see the excellence of their work acknowledged at this level. Our aim is to present as wide a variety of classical music to listeners as possible, so it’s especially rewarding to have been nominated in so many different categories. My warmest thanks go to all of our artists, and to each and every member of the DG team.”

The 63rd Annual GRAMMY Awards ceremony will be broadcast on CBS on 31 January 2021.
